BRAND NEW PLAYGROUND INSTALLED 2022 FOR TODDLERS AND YOUNG CHILDREN ALIKE

If you are looking for a child-friendly Scotland caravan park to enable you to sit back and relax whilst your little ones have fun, then Drummohr, our family caravan and campsite near Edinburgh might just be perfect for you. After a busy day exploring the exciting city of Edinburgh or the beaches and seaside towns along the East Lothian coastline, our peaceful East Lothian touring caravan site is a wonderful place to unwind and a safe space for children to meet others and play whilst on their Edinburgh camping holiday. Read more about our child friendly campsite near Edinburgh in our BLOG

At the heart of our picturesque Edinburgh touring site, encircled by pitches, is a children’s playground, completely updated in 2022 with:

  • Swings and basket, including toddler swings
  • Climbing and balance equipment, net and slide - one for older children and one for toddlers
  • Sand pit with diggers
  • Small grassed area for games
  • Natural soft bark installed
  • Minimum age 3, maximum 12
  • Playground open between 9am and 9pm

Young and small children should always be accompanied by an adult when using the equipment. We hope that the equipment will stimulate young minds, encourage imaginative play and give your small children endless hours of fun - as well as burning off all that extra energy!

Many young children like to take on additional responsibilities when camping such as washing up and our spacious and safe site we hope will encourage a little bit more independence. Our dog-friendly Edinburgh holiday park also has a short, enclosed dog walk to the North.

Further afield there is a children’s play area near the harbour in Musselburgh as well as Weehailes Adventure Playpark, part of the Newhailes House and Gardens which is owned by the National Trust for Scotland, a great day out for all the family. Opposite Drummohr Camping and Glamping site is the Preston Grange Mining Museum, an open air museum chronicling the industrial heritage of the area. It’s free to enter and makes a great dog walk too. Information boards outline the history of the machines and buildings on display so it’s a great free Scottish tourist destination to visit all year round for all the family.
