Dog Friendly Accommodation

Dog Friendly Accommodation East Lothian

As a Scottish dog-friendly campsite in East Lothian, we know how important it is to bring along the dearly loved canine members of your family. Camping and glamping with your dog can be one of the very best experiences to share with your four-legged friend. We even have a dog walk at the campsite and there are lots of great dog walks nearby.

  • 1 small 'well behaved’ dog allowed in our dog-friendly Edinburgh holiday lodges or dog-friendly glamping pod bothies
  • Up to 2 'well behaved' dogs per camping or touring pitch
  • No dogs in our Single Octo or Hexi glamping pods, our Deluxe glamping bothies or in our luxury self-catering cottage, Melville Retreat

What we ask of all dog owners

  • All dogs must be kept on a short lead or be tethered at all times whilst on site even on the Dog Walk
  • Please clean up after your dog even on the Dog Walk
  • Please do not allow your dog to be a nuisance to other guests
  • Dogs should be healthy (vaccinated), socialised and obedient
  • No dangerous breeds please
  • Please never leave them alone in any Drummohr accommodation, even if that is your own, for an unfamiliar setting could force them to become distressed and/or a nuisance to other guests
  • Small charge for your pets (£3 per night touring, £5 per night glamping and £25 per week in a pet-friendly holiday lodge)

If these important rules are not adhered to, then you will be asked to leave the site.

Local dog walks

We have a dog walk around the Northern perimeter of our site and there are lots of local walks where dogs can be let off the lead, including the woods around the Preston Grange Mining Museum, opposite the site and the John Muir Way which runs along the shoreline of the Firth of Forth.

The bus stop into Edinburgh is five minutes’ walk Dogs can travel on Lothian Buses however this is at the driver’s discretion. All dogs must be on a lead and normally 1 only allowed on the bus by the driver.

Ask our site wardens to recommend dog-friendly places to eat in East Lothian.
