Our newest holiday hideaway Longnor Wood is located in the heart of England in the beautiful Peak District, not far from the small village of Longnor and close to the main access road between the towns of Buxton and Bakewell. The Peak District is easily accessible from many cities and is an ideal destination for a long weekend. Longnor Wood is a 5 star, adults only holiday park and a member of tranquil parks. Accredited 5-star by the AA Longnor is an ideal choice for a Peak District getaway.
With a 5-star accreditation from the AA, Longnor Wood is a highly reviewed campsite. The site is located in a rural location, with stunning views and there are lots of beautiful walks direct from the site. The Peak District is also known for its traffic-free cycle routes including the Manifold Trail and Tissington Trail, both located just a short drive from the site.
With spacious hard-standing touring pitches with 10A electric and grey waste, Longnor Wood is an excellent campsite, with a large secure dog walk area with spectacular views and a dog wash facility. There is also space for tents as well. Longnor Wood is ideal for anyone looking for a romantic break. We have fire pits available for hire and Longnor Wood is open between 1st March and 10th January.
There are two luxury en-suite glamping pods in a quiet corner of the holiday park, including one dog-friendly glamping pod. In addition, there are 6 spacious one-bedroom static caravans with private outdoor hot tub, including dog-friendly caravans. The site also has a range of luxury, contemporary one and two-bedroom hot tub lodges to choose from. All our holiday lodges have hot tubs and are well-equipped for a romantic getaway. Our Superior Lodge has a luxurious bathroom complete with free-standing bath.
On-site is a small licensed shop and laundry. Longnor Wood is a tranquil park and due to its dark skies is perfect for stargazing. Longnor village is a lovely walk or short drive away and has a café, fish and chip shop and small village shop. Buxton and Bakewell or both within 30 minutes’ drive.
As well as walking and cycling there is so much to do on a romantic getaway. The area is famous for its Buxton caves and caverns. The thermal spa town of Buxton has a range of independent shops and galleries, as well as stunning architecture, outdoor gardens and museums. Or why not pick up a Bakewell pudding from one of the Bakewell bakeries. The Chatsworth Estate, Chatsworth House and grounds are well worth a visit, as is Haddon Hall.
