Relax and enjoy Christmas in Edinburgh at Drummohr

What could be more festive than a Christmas getaway in a glamping pod or bothy or one of our lodges with hot tubs. Drummohr is one of the few caravan sites open at Christmas close to the beautiful city of Edinburgh. Edinburgh is even more spectacular than normal during the Christmas period as this is when the well known Edinburgh Christmas markets are on and the spectacular Edinburgh Hogmanay celebrations take place. It's a 1 hour bus ride onto Princes St or a 10 minute train journey into Waverley station from Drummohr. Why not treat yourself to a mulled wine or two as you take in all of the wonderful festivities? If you have never tried it before why not give Christmas camping a try? Drummohr is an open all year campsite. We also offer dog friendly Christmas breaks.

Christmas Camping

As one of the few caravan sites open at Christmas guests can enjoy Christmas camping here at Drummohr. Our touring and tent pitches remain open all year. Please note that availability at Hogmanay is always tight so please book early to secure your spot. Our luxury amenities buildings have under-floor heating, plentiful hot water with no push showers and there is an indoor campers kitchen (with seating, freezer, microwave, toaster and kettle) even guests Christmas camping with us should be warm and comfortable.

Christmas Glamping

Our double deluxe and family glamping bothies have a WC and running water, as well as a small kitchenette for basic cooking, with the luxury showers being a short walk. Or for something more luxurious why not try our hot tub lodges? All of our 2 and 3 -bedroom Scottish holiday lodges are decked out with a Christmas tree during the festive season. Despite our proximity to Scotland's capital city we do enjoy some dark skies so why not relax with a glass of fizz in your very own hot tub accommodation? We also have a self catering cottage with hot tub, our Melville Retreat at the entrance to our Edinburgh campsite.

Edinburgh Christmas Markets

Enjoy festive entertainment, ice skating, Santa's grotto, magical funfair rides, delicious food and much more at the Edinburgh Christmas markets. Located on Princes St, the Edinburgh Christmas markets typically run from mid November right through to the start of January so there's plenty of time for you to enjoy them when you stay at our Edinburgh campsite. With the Edinburgh Castle of Light watch breathtaking light projections illuminate the historic castle walls.

Christmas at Edinburgh Botanics

The sparkling after-dark trail at Christmas at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh is a magical wonderland for all the family. Christmas at the Botanics is an after-dark festive fun in a botanical world.

Edinburgh Christmas entertainment

Why not enjoy a show or a pantomime when spending Christmas in Edinburgh with the family? Experience a range of performances, from classical candlelight concerts at St Giles Cathedral, family musicals at the Edinburgh Playhouse, Christmas movies with live orchestras at the Usher Hall, to ballet productions like The Nutcracker.
