It is located close to some of the best preserved and most spectacular sections of the Roman Wall and there are some excellent circular walks. The AD122 bus stops at the campsite entrance and allows guests to explore the attractions of Hadrian’s Wall without needing to use their car.
Further afield, the castles and spectacular beaches of coastal Northumberland, the hills of the Cheviots and Northern Pennines, Kielder Forest and Kielder Water, as well as the market towns of Corbridge and Hexham, are all easily accessible for a day trip whilst staying at Herding Hill Farm. The train line from Haltwhistle and 685 bus connect the cities of Newcastle and Carlisle. The Lake District and Scottish borders are just a short drive.
